Chief Executive Officer and Director

Carsten Koerl has served as our Founder and Chief Executive Officer since our founding in 2001. Prior to founding Sportradar, Mr. Koerl held a number of management positions within the software development and gaming industry, including betandwin Interactive Entertainment AG, an online betting company, which he founded in 1997. He holds a Master of Electronic and Microprocessor Engineering degree from the University for Applied Sciences in Konstanz.

Chief Product, Technology and AI Officer

Behshad Behzadi is the Chief Product, Technology and AI Officer for Sportradar. With more than 20 years of experience, Behzadi is a distinguished computer scientist and recognized global technology leader with expertise in algorithms, search ranking, natural language processing, speech recognition, machine learning and generative AI. Behzadi joined Google Zurich in 2006 and has played a key role in Google’s AI-first strategy as co-founder of Google Assistant, Google Lens, Google Smart Display and the Next Gen Assistant, a breakthrough in mobile assistant technology with on-device Machine Learning. Most recently, he led Google Cloud's Conversational AI and applied Generative AI initiative focusing on applying the latest AI advancements to reimagine and automate customer services and operations for large enterprises. Behzadi earned a PhD in Bioinformatics from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and did postdoctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics.

Chief Commercial Officer

Eduard Blonk is the Chief Commercial Officer for Sportradar. Blonk leads the Global Commercial organisation, consisting of Global Sales, Commercial Excellence & Operations, Sports Rights and Partnerships, and Marketing & Communications teams. He has been with Sportradar since 2015, predominantly as the Managing Director of Global Sales. Prior to joining Sportradar, he spent 18 years in a range of global sales and marketing management roles, working within the telecommunication and data communications industry across B2B and B2C organizations in the Netherlands, Germany, and the US, including Siemens Mobile, Siemens Communications, and Gigaset Communications. Blonk holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Business Economics degree from the Hague University of Applied Sciences.

Chief Financial Officer
Craig Felenstein serves as Chief Financial Officer at Sportradar, bringing nearly three decades of finance and operational expertise in various industries to his role. Before joining Sportradar, he served as CFO at Lindblad Expeditions Holdings, Inc. from September 2016 to May 2024. Prior to Lindblad, he was Senior VP of Investor Relations and Strategic Finance at Shutterstock, Inc., where he managed investor relations and led financial planning, analysis, and corporate development. Earlier in his career, he held management positions at Discovery Communications, LLC, including EVP of Investor Relations, and served as CFO for various Discovery businesses. Felenstein also held senior roles at News Corporation, Viacom Inc., and Arthur Andersen & Co. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Binghamton University.
Nick Maywald

Chief Growth Officer

Nick Maywald is Chief Growth Officer at Sportradar. Most recently, Maywald served as the company’s Chief Content Officer. Prior to joining Sportradar, Maywald was the Executive Chairman of Synergy Sports (which became part of the Sportradar group in 2021) and was the founder and CEO of SportingPulse, a company that simplified the process of managing membership, competitions, communication, and live scoring for national federations, professional leagues, and amateur associations around the world. Over the course of his career, Maywald has held numerous board and senior executive positions. He has also founded several technology businesses, including one of Australia’s largest sports digital media properties which was acquired by News Corporation.

Chief Legal and Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary

Michael C. Miller serves as our Chief Legal and Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Miller brings over 20 years of meaningful legal and business experience with U.S. publicly listed global and domestic companies. Most recently Executive VP, Corporate Development & Affairs and Chief Legal Officer of Barnes & Noble Education, Inc. (NYSE: BNED), Mr. Miller led a consolidated legal, government affairs, corporate development, HR and communications function, building on his experience gained at Monster.com, Symbol Technologies and in private practice. 

Mr. Miller graduated with a BA in English from the College of the Holy Cross and holds a JD from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and an MBA from Long Island University—CW Post.

Warren Murphy

Senior Adviser to the CEO

Warren Murphy is Senior Adviser to the CEO at Sportradar. Prior to that, Murphy served as Group Chief Delivery and Operations Officer responsible for managing the company’s content operations, product development and engineering divisions. Prior to Sportradar, he was CEO at The Sporting Group, a role he held for seven years. The company was backed by HgCapital and Murphy led the successful sale of the business in 2014. Previously, he was Head of New Product Development at Camelot and Senior Product Manager at Rank Hovis McDougall. Murphy began his career as Brand Manager at Bass Plc.

Severine Riviere-Gerstner

Chief People Officer

Severine Riviere-Gerstner serves as Chief People Officer. She brings two decades of experience in global human resource management and business transformation and is responsible for all aspects of Sportradar's human capital strategy, including talent management, capabilities development, total rewards, and workplace culture.

Previously, she was Chief Human Resources Officer at Fyffes International part of Sumitomo Corporation. Throughout her career, she has worked in global and regional roles in human resources within B2B and B2C global companies, in the Netherlands, UK, Hong Kong and Switzerland, including Heineken, Novo Nordisk and Steelcase. Riviere-Gerstner holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Master in Labor Law.
